We fly most weekends at Charters Towers Airport provided the weather is suitable. We may not fly if the weather is rainy or stormy or too windy.  Just about any sunny day is good which Charters Towers is!

We have two two-seat gliders for training and member use, as well as a single seat glider for solo pilots. We launch by winch which takes approx 60 seconds to launch to aproximately 1800ft AGL.   We are lucky enough to operate in close proximity to Townsville which is only an hours drive along the Flinders Highway.

Flights with us are available almost any weekend by arrangement with one of our trained volunteer instructors.   

An air experience flight usually takes up to 20 minutes depending on weather conditions.  Click on the Shop tab for more information.

If you like the experience, you can join the club and start training immediately. 

Your training will be guided by one of our accredited instructors who will help you progress to achieving your Glider Pilots Certificate and further challenges that advanced gliding can offer.
